GLADE is a three-day experiential event featuring a variety of workshops led by a diverse lineup of experienced spiritual practitioners from around the Great Lakes region. Enjoy learning, shopping, socializing, and ceremony with like-minded folks from across the country and down the street.

2025 ROOTS Presenters

  • Heatherleigh is the owner of Boston Tea Room, the region’s oldest and most respected psychic shop. She is a psychic medium, tarot reader and teacher, and meditation coach. She is also the founder of Middlepath Meditation, hosting weekly meditations for the past 17years, and co-founded the Detroit Area Tarot Guild, offering monthly classes and tarot activities for the group’s seven hundred-plus members. Her tarot and divination work with clients and students is based on a strong belief that these skills can be developed by anyone and can be integrated into daily life in a way that significantly improve one’s happiness, relationships, and overall quality of life.

  • Nearly 30 years ago, at a party, someone put a tarot deck in Barbara’s hands. She’s held on tight ever since. Tarot provides just enough structure so that we don’t get lost as we explore the mysteries, plumb our dusty corners, and find our way even in the dark. Barbara has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She’s published some books, including Your Tarot Your Way, Tarot for Beginners, Tarot Spreads, The Steampunk Tarot, Mystical Manga Tarot, Tarot in Wonderland, Modern Guide to Energy Clearing, Trick or Treat Tarot, Good Fortune Tarot, and others. It’s been Barbara’s good fortune to teach tarot all over the world, including helping found a tarot school in China. Barbara lives in Minnesota with her wife, Dylan.

  • Charise has been studying all things Metaphysical since the age of 13. She started her journey with Boston Tea Room after training in New Orleans back in 2004.  Charise is an expert in tarot, mediumship, tea leaves, psychometry, and palmistry. She also performs energetic healings in her own unique style. Over the last two decades, Charise has taught a variety of intuitive development tools and subjects to over a thousand students. She also has a special interest in coaching empaths.

  • Jacki Smith, witch extraordinaire, is the co-founder of Coventry Creations and a long time leaderin the Mid-western pagan community. Jacki has been creating magical tools for over 30 years, teaching at pagan events all over the country for over twenty years, and writing award-winning bestsellers for the past decade. Jacki’s titles include Coventry Magic, and The Big Book Of Candle Magic, and her works take readers through the five different types of magic and provides how-to guides for everything from sigils, stones, personal exploration and of course, candles.

  • As a child growing up in Mississippi, DeAnnah’s natural intuitive abilities often landed her introuble. From possessing the ability to see and feel a stranger’s pain to talking with “imaginary friends” of a spiritual origin, these sticky situations eventually caused DeAnnah to suppress her gifts throughout her adolescence.

She is a Pantheist with a passion for folk traditions and ancient & modern spirituality, and regularly brings her unique brand of green-magick and fae-lore to audiences at music festivals and fairs. She has studied folk traditions, and magick in New Orleans, and in Wales, U.K, as well as in her home state of Michigan.

  • After working as a nurse on a trauma unit in Detroit for several years, Kelly’s path has branched out in mysterious ways, sending her on an endless quest. Tarot has shown her how to aid others on a spiritual, emotional and mental level. She uses intuition, tarot and oracle cards to assist her clients and students in finding their own answers, their truth, assists clients in making connections so they may see clearly the larger patterns playing out in their lives. Her goal is to empower and inspire.

  • Chet is a tarot expert and intuitive counselor, forged in a working-class background & informed by over a decade of experience in kitchen witchcraft. Their approach is down-to-earth, unconventional, and co-conspirator.

  • Madeleine is a visual artist, writer, Pagan, and eclectic Witch who has been studying and practicing Witchcraft, Paganism, and Goddess-based spirituality for over 15 years. Discovering the Pagan ‘Wheel of the Year’ was a moment of clarity for Madeleine, and she has devoted the last few years to studying how to live a life more closely attuned with the rhythms of nature.

    Madeleine has worked nearly a decade in the Metaphysical world: studying, teaching, creating art, and finding community.

  • Spiritual phenomena have occurred for Allison since childhood. Being strongly empathic, she has a deep connection to the spirit realm, leading paranormal tours and investigations as well as helping families with spiritual consultations and guidance.

  • Robert, born in Carmarthen, Wales, birthplace of Merlin the Wise, and raised near Stonehenge, England, spent seven years as a Hindu monk. He was initiated as a reader of the mystical Brighu Yantra, an ancient Indian divination tool. He is also an accomplished Palmist and Astrologer.

  • Alejandra is a scholar and practitioner of ceremonial magick. Her work includes divination and theurgic ritual; with an especially strong emphasis on angelology and demonology. Alejandra’s research interests investigate the impact of cultural exchange and colonization on Western esotericism. She holds a Master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School and has an upcoming book release of angelic invocation rituals entitled “Conjuring Heaven in Hellish Places.”
